Here's what the manual for my 17 says about maintenance:
9. Maintenance
9.1 General Information
It’s your responsibility to properly maintain and operate
your new vehicle. Follow the instructions contained in
the General and Scheduled Maintenance Service guidelines
in your Owner’s Manual...
I'm not sure that is completely legal either, I have been working on cars, trucks, diesel locomotives, power gensets, lawnmowers, you name it, I don't trust ANYONE to do my oil changes, example give , a guy I talked to took his Ford 6.0 liter powerstroke in to one of those oil change places and...
I have an old CTS INSIGHT & it worked great on my Duramax, but that PID isn't available for the ECO, I have a scangauge 2 installed & it will show it but would prefer it on the dash display.
Is Alfa OBD capable of changing the parameters of the gear indicator, I would like the indicator to turn on when I start the truck. With the factory default I have to hit the gear- button on the wheel to illuminate it & then the gear+ button until it shows 8 to allow the transmission to upshift...
Get a Scan gauge 2, it will allow you to program PID's to monitor soot mass and regens. These trucks do a passive regen when the soot mass hits about 76 grams, mine tells me when it starts a regen, when it does start I just go for a little ride to allow it to complete, unfortunately the gauge...
Sounds like bullsh!t to me, & I think if push came to shove it won't hold water! I wouldn't trust ANY of the oil change places to put the correct oil in, in fact I did the first oil change on mine & the dealership had the o ring on the filter in the WRONG PLACE. If you keep your receipts for oil...
You are probably correct about the quantity produced.IMO, because exhaust temps are lower the soot doesn't burn off as well, in the short trips around town here I can watch the load creep up to REGEN mass load in 50 miles or so, take it for a cruise & the mass drops some without going into...
I parked next to another ECO a couple of days ago and noticed it was idling, I had been watching a young woman approach it & asked her if I could offer some advice and proceeded to tell her that letting it idle wasn't good, she said "it's ok there's people in it" I said thats not the issue & she...
It seems like there was one other recall, but not sure. I've only had mine since the end of December, 14,343 miles when I bought it, I have an EDGE INSIGHT CTS 7 SCANGAUGE 2 so I can watch the PIDs I want, including soot mass & regens, if starts a passive regen it gets completed next drive cycle...
5w30 recommendation/requirement is obsolete, 5w40 is the choice, I'm currently running ROTELLA T6, but there are other brands available, just make sure it meets the criteria.
It's the nature of the modern diesel, don't slam FCA it's the EPA mandated bullsh!t., get it tuned & deleted if ya don't have emissions testing & drive the hell out of it, that will eliminate regens & all associated issues.
I installed a SCANGAUGE 2 and programmed the PID's that I wanted to monitor, one was soot mass I find that my 17 will regen at 76 grams, I also programmed a PID fo regen on/off, I think that has helped as I know wwen a regen has started I can drive it & allow it to finish, I believe that is a...
I was going through the uconnect screen and noticed a setting that was something about engine shutdown the two settings were 45 seconds and 5 minutes IIRC, BUT I can't tell that it does anything, can anyone offer an answer. Aiso, can Alfaobd be configured for fast idle? I've seen a couple of...
