    R.I.P. EcoDiesel / NEVER EV

As far as I know you would be the first person to report using a 2020+ motor in a 2019 or earlier truck if that is what you are saying.

    Should I keep this truck?

Funny, I was just at Rainier Dodge in Olympia today talking to a sales person there and he told someone with an ecoD just had a tone ring replaced as it failed while on vacation. Just curious if it was you? If so did the dealer do a good job? I have an appointment in late July (after the...

Why I will never buy an Ecodiesel or any FCA product ever again.

Glad your truck is running, I would check all the electrical connectors you can find under the truck and make sure everything is tightly secured.

New here and don't even own one yet...

It would be nice to see the service records on the trucks and find out if all of the recalls have been completed or any of them have an aftermarket tune installed, etc.... I would not be afraid to purchase but would purchase carefully! Knowledge is power!

    2022 tuning

There appear to be many tuners out there but the 3 mentioned in Mr. Jensens post seem to be the most well established and reputable.... A word of advice "DONT BE CHEAP", many have tried but it is really hard to unscramble an egg when it is in the pan. (think of your ECM as the egg)

    Delete kit

Probably the easiest way to get rid of 90% of problems is to start with a quality tune. No need to do a physical delete.

Replacing the engine can be done in a couple days..... getting the engine that was probably on back order was probably the issue.

    crank shaft timing sensor.

It is quite likely that the tone ring has failed which may be covered under a warranty depending on your trucks vin # . W58 or W68 I believe. Check around the forum for those recalls.

Most tunes can be uninstalled at will with a hand held flash device in a matter if minutes for those dealer trips and reinstalled when you get back home.

When you get it back consider a tune, it may save you on some future repairs.

Bummer that you didn't get a great eco diesel but I think everyone would be thrilled that you were made whole! Hope you find a great rig and let us know if you end up with an eco diesel!

Since Toyota sold you the deleted truck (illegally) and they are working with RAM the only solution will be to restore the truck to legal condition for you. Then it will be up to you to keep or sell. The dealers will be under no obligation to get your consent on any repairs. Any reputable RAM...
