Need a heads up on what to ask while shopping for our new EcoDiesel

Limited should have bed liner standard, delete is actually the option. I built my Laramie Longhorn to limited specs, 4 corner air, keyless, convenience package, sunroof, Nav, etc. I absolutely love it and use most everything. Not the biggest fan of the Auto windshield wipers. And I do not use...

    Overweight Detection by dealer

I misinterpreted that as you referencing the trailer vin and weight stamp. A lot of new ultra light 5th wheels are being designed for half ton pulls specifically. So I could easily see lower rated pin weights given it was the intended application for the trailer to be a half ton pull

    Overweight Detection by dealer

It would be extremely illegal for a manufacturer to fib that

    Overweight Detection by dealer

If it's 10% on the tag then it's 10% when it's unloaded and hooked up level. Empty. Nothing in the storage or tanks at all

    Overweight Detection by dealer

Tag weight is empty and unloaded. Factor in the weight and position of your holding tanks if you're carrying water at 7-8#/gal and every bit of your tack. Everything that you put in your trailer needs to be added. So yeah tacking an extra 1000# of pin weight based on how you distribute your...

    Cold Weather group

Battery blanket is standard on the ecodiesel's as is a frost plug. Cold weather group attaches a cord (factory installed with mounts and heat shields) and routes it through the engine bay. This is done on the assembly line. And the winter front comes with this now as it's a "group"

    Cold Weather group

The dealer doesn't know their head from there's a**es. If your truck is equipped with the cold weather group then there is a factory installed heater cord on your ecodiesel you just need to find it behind the electronic cluster of crap and it'll be tucked neatly behind your headlight likely on...

    Cold Weather group

No. If your truck had the COLD WEATHER GROUP then there is a cord. It's just a matter of finding it. Search around your headlights somewhere in that area under the Hood and you'll find yourself the pluggin

    Lifted Ecodiesel's MPG??

Expect to stick around 20MPG highway with any significant lift. Still not bad at all for a full size.

Air suspension is awesome feature on the limited's, but don't play with it too terribly much in the winter, it is a sealed air system but could be subject to some condensation freeze ups. But I'm basically in Canada (10 min from the Border in Mn) and I had no issues with mine this last winter...

    New to Ram!

Some of the Chrysler service and just associated time with any Repair process really adds fuel to the fire of anyone's complaints in a forum. There are thousands and thousands of ecodiesel's out there now and we dwell on the negativity of the 20 that are spread across the forums that they're all...

    Exhaust temp

No you can't, there's a few options, relatively inexpensive scanners like the one @moparecodiesel Used to show in his videos are basic options, or there's an "edge cts" scantool available that's a lot more high end and there is a pillar mount available for the module. Nice digital display. I...

    New Laramie in MN

Yeah if you spend a lot of time running around town and the soot content in the exhaust gets high you can smell the DEF burning off in the exhaust as it wants to do a regen. I'm in a very small town so my everyday errands promote no highway time and very little full temp time so occasionally I...
