    Performance module

I second the above...plug in modules have never offered “tune quality”. If you’re looking for a real performance gain, go with a quality tune.

How many miles on your ecodiesel and have you had any problems?

2017 with 83,000 miles. Fully deleted at 80,000. Failed EGR Cooler, a Rad Cap, and $120 worth of coolant while I was in “delete limbo”. Despite the trouble, I love my truck.

    2015 deleted

My thoughts, exactly. Unless OP is specifically asking to turn his DEF gauge on, it should be programmed off, via the tune.

Sound decision brother. Ride that warranty/ recall all you can!

    My adventure with SofaKingTuned

I missed that part. I’m not 100% certain but, I’d have to imagine it has similar effects on the DPF. There are two parts to the EGR; the front tube “diffuser” that you’ll be blocking off, and the EGR that bolts on to the rear manifold. I’ve never understood the point of bypassing one, and not...

    My adventure with SofaKingTuned

I deleted my DPF and the exhaust fumes aren’t bad at all. The exhaust noise is virtually the same. PITA to do but worth it, if you’re deleting the EGR. Otherwise, the DPF will clog.

    SofaKingTune time!!

You guys are going to love the SKT tunes. I’ve had mine for about a week and it’s a completely different truck.

    EGR Delete Question

Hello All! This is a follow up to a question I posed earlier, regarding EGR delete. I broke two bolts off in the block, trying to remove the EGR. I called the manufacturer of my kit and they said it happens all the time. They said not to sweat it and plate the EGR tube instead. They also said...

    EGR Delete Question

Yeah...I figured as much. I’m going to Dremel a slot in the bolt and use a flat head. Thanks!

    EGR Delete Question

Hello All! I’m about 90% finished with my full delete. I go to remove the EGR tube from behind the engine annnddd...I sheer a bolt...is there anything wrong with slapping a gasket and plate on the end of the EGR tube? Or do you have to remove it?

    Shavings in DEGAS Tank

I did exactly that, about an hour ago. I made a mountain out of a mole hill lol. Thank you Sir!

    Shavings in DEGAS Tank

Well damn...I think I can get them out with a turkey baster, as they are just sitting in the lower surface of the tank. Thanks!

    Shavings in DEGAS Tank

Hello All! My DEGAS cap broke off in the tank. After removing it...rather violently...there are now plastic shavings from cap assembly in the tank. Probably a dozen tiny pieces. Should I be concerned?

    Potential fire after service

Amen brother! I wish the original owner of my truck had that good sense.

    Potential fire after service

Take the vehicle in and tell them it’s the EGR cooler, even if you’re not certain. Otherwise, they’ll putz around, as FCA techs usually do. Once confirmed, they’ll put you on a wait list. Then, you get to wait God knows how long for the part. FCA recommended I pay for the currently stocked EGR...

    Potential fire after service

In the interest of discretion, there’s a few companies operating out of Canada. If you don’t mind the vehicle down time for a few days, they’ll bench tune for a reasonable price. If you dig through a few other threads, you might find one or two in the U.S. I emailed quite a few folks over the...

    Potential fire after service

The FCA recall you’re referring to, VB1, pertains to the EGR cooler. Apparently, the coolers develop micro cracks, cause subsequent coolant leaks, and start cabin fires...I’m currently in line for an EGR cooler. Decided to delete instead.
  18. -STIGLITZ-

    Hello All!

Chrysler informed me they had no ETA on the part so, yeah, nail on the head. At the rate these coolers are failing, it’s a wonder it took them this long to issue a recall.

    Hello All!

    Thank you Sir!

    Hello All!

2017 and yes, I have a failed EGR cooler. It’s covered under FCA recall VB1 but I figured, he’ll, why not just delete?
