    engine failure @ 148000 miles.

In the past week I cam close to trading my Ecodiesel for a new Cummins. Stopped because of the hideous trade price for my EcoD. It looks and runs perfect at 42K. The Cummins would also take lots of work to make it mine. Things like cap, wiring and antenna for amateur radio, running boards...

How many miles on your ecodiesel and have you had any problems?

Can't add anything dramatic. 42,000 miles and nothing unusual to report. Still getting 26-27 mpg with GDE and EGR turned off. That's normal operation. I do better if I just drive on a trip without towing. Don't want a jinx so I won't post this. ???

    Doubters on this site .

"Lucifer" is an appropriate name. May you send that devil to the deep, blue sea.

    Blown Eco Diesel engine

Reads like your case is moving along faster than a few others I read about. That's no comfort to you and probably, there is only the comfort that something is being done to make it less difficult. Sure hope it works out and soon.

    EcoDiesel motor replacement

Why? Moving the body off the frame is the easiest and fastest way to do it. This is common and has been done, unfortunately, a few other times.

    UGH I'm pissed

Good ideas here. It would be a venue for me to praise Firkins in Bradenton, Fl. Until it comes to fruition, I didn't do that.

    2014 ecodiesel. Motor blew.

Sad. Really think they design should not be so sensitive.

    Engine Detailing

Started to use S100 in the 70's on all my motorcycles and engines. It's an old product by ..."Dr. O.K. Wak". Actually a German concoction. Spray on and grease gone. It also shines aluminum a bit and incredibly, leaves literally no water marks. Your dad is the man that knows.

    Engine Detailing

I spray S100 on my engine and have done it twice since new. 40,000 miles now with no issues and ... I rinse the S100 off with a garden hose and blow dry with an air hose. No issues negative, yet. Also spray on a cheap water-based spray protectant like ArmorAll or Dollar General protectant to...

    2016 ram 1500 ed

Just happy the fuel cost is so low, even if not as low as gasoline. We bought for the characteristics of a diesel. Paid $2.04 for diesel a couple days ago. Far cry from the $4 or so not too long ago.

    GDE Tune After 2,000 miles

Good consideration. Quite often advertising hype or maybe a highly-supportive sponsor dictates the review. I did the review because, to me, $800 is a lot of money and I expected some changes for the positive. Not sure there were many and none were dramatic. Then, on reflection, that just might...

    GDE Tune After 2,000 miles

Finally got a chance to tow a little with my GDE installed. Kind of hate to call it a "tune" but it probably does a lot without being noticeable. I keep thinking a "tune" should make it some kind of 'fire-breathing' dragster. My impressions about fuel mileage changes is they are minimal. Mostly...

    The "GLORY" of a Tune

Never had any idea of what my regen intervals were. Watched them many times but mostly I do not look at that gauge much. The regen. numbers are set up to be the largest ones right in my face yet I still tune them out. Mostly when I drive I look at the road and strain to ,listen to my motor. I...

    Anyone using GDE tuning ??

You can move. You can get enough reasonable people together and throw out the government to be replaced by a reasonable one. You do have choices.

    The "GLORY" of a Tune

Depends on what you mean by fast. Top speed - the Ecodiesel has a higher governor speed. Stock with factory transmission from a start - close. Cruising effortlessly at higher speeds - Ecodiesel. The little Ecodiesel with the 8 speed transmission is one darn good package, not only for such a...

    The "GLORY" of a Tune

If the Allison is so great, why did mine literally come apart at 140,000 miles? As for the motor, sure they have and can produce more power. They just do not cruise along above 75 mph effortlesssly like the EcoDiesel does. Then again, since my Duramax lost 10 of its' 8 injectors (???) and cost...

    Anyone using GDE tuning ??

NOT remotely displeased. My post on the other forum was ripped because I first talked about how the dealer messed me up with some the installation, GDE had no instructions or receipt included. I was not computer lifestyle aware that in this "modern" world people expect you to Google the...

    The "GLORY" of a Tune

No. They are slow from the start and ponderous at higher speeds. My take on this, after hundreds of thousands of miles experience, is transmission and gearing. They do not "smoke" the Ecodiesel. If you raise bloody heck with them at the start they shake, shift with a giant jerk and just do not...

    The "GLORY" of a Tune

Break your heart. I have owned the 6.5, the Duramax and the Cummins. Top speeds on all of them is LESS than the Ecodiesel None of those three would be fast as the Ecodiesel from the standpoint of unloaded speed. Now the only automatic of the three was the Duramax with the Allison. Since the...

    The "GLORY" of a Tune

The normal "Hot Tune" with the addition of the engine braking feature. I asked them if they could do just a regular tune without any power increase. They can but stated that power increase is not in any way tough on the motor. I'm fine with it. Really think the problem is I so not "take off"...
