Couple days before the GDE control module arrived the dealer tried to flash my factory module. They broke it and replaced the thing with a new one. Now comes the GDE unit, a used one they re-flashed, so I went to put it in.
Now GDE does not include instructions. They expect you to download...
Ordered the GDE tune just today. Want that EGR system stopped. Just added the engine braking option.
Now in the future, if I wish to do a full delete, the exhaust pipe and $100 re-flash makes it work.
You don't have to let it lapse. Call them and tell them you do not want to renew when it runs out UNLESS you get a discount. A bit of haggling and you will get it at about $5 a month. Just write down when that expires and do the same thing BEFORE it expires. Otherwise, you will be automatically...
Sorry. I don't know.
That old Ford 2000 is a beast. I have that scooter plow, the 20 disc harrow and sometimes a 6 ft. brush hog on the trailer at the same time. No issue hauling. Most of my hauls with this equipment are less than 10 miles to my hunting property from my campground where I keep...
If they do what might power it brings on more speculation. The existing Hemi would work. Doubt they would use an Ecodiesel as "suburbanites" don't seem to me to be prepared to deal with the diesel nuances. Doubt the Pentastar would have the grunt and that's a darn good engine.
First I think you should avoid the desert if afraid of the shift knob. That or bring a tow truck with you.
You have not lived until you turn the knob to R while moving along at 40 mph and wanted to coast in neutral. The computer works. Don't try it. Trust me on that.
Think you got good advice on just buying a new Tradesman. I did that when they first came out. It's a nice quad-cab truck with lots of options and 4 x 4 also. MSRP was 4$1K and change. I paid $32K.
Now it's not so fancy inside. If you want fancy they do cost upwards of $20K more than mine. Not...
For me the answer is, "No". I and somewhat in the same situation as my mileage is close to yours and I have had some strange issues with that darn shift know. Sometimes It tells me I should be turning or not turning the thing. Then when I do it tells me not to do that. Then all is fine.
During...
If you can now explain that it can be fixed or has been fixed ... I will say "hooray" and will also drink to that.
Super thanks for the replay and explanation.
***As an aside, I might miss the video as I plan on heading to Georgia and my hunting camp for a few weeks. The little iPhone is a...
That's a lot of questions..
I only glanced at the speedometer. The GPS records top speed and my glance was about the 106 I recorded.
Did remember ( now remember this was a full year-and-a-half ago ) I looked at the rpm's. Think they were in the high 3's and have no clue what gears were being...
Tow a lot with mine. Towing tomorrow with a third trailer to Georgia. None are large tows. That toy hauler had Harley's in it on a run to Pennsylvania from Florida this past Summer. It's been towed multiple times.
This EcoD is not my old Cummins 2500. It is what it is and that's been fine for...
I think the transmission is a possible reason Ram is not selling as many Ecodiesels as they predicted. I think the transmission is hurting sales of most all FICA products. Now that would only be true for customers who actually know about the transmission issues.
I don't worry about engine oil...
Never been a fan of automatics. You just do not have the control of the vehicle as you do with a manual.
Another recent issue is my ZF transmission has always run hot. While towing I have seen temperatures to 240 degrees.
Talked with ZF personally. Had the truck at the dealer on this issue...
A couple years ago I almost bought a Pentastar Ram 1500. Coming from a Cummins and no longer towing over 7,000 lbs, I test-drove two of them. Solo they were fine. Research told me putting my toy hauler on one would be "not so fine". Never would consider a Hemi. Friends have/had them with lots of...
I don't deserve any praise. I am just a fisherman. While I was easily catching giant gag grouper today, Shawn was fishing around trying to figure things out.
He's the man. Thanks for the update.
You can get filters on Ebay less. They sell are both OEM and aftermarket. Just be sure you get the ones with the " O" ring near the top of the filter stem. Reno's Garage sells OEM's at a little less than most dealers.
As for oil:
Mobil 1 ESP 5-30 ... Castrol Edge European 5-30...Kendall GTI...
Your obviously on top of the issue. Short of doing the insurance thing and then dealing with the increases and penalties caused by an "at-fault" accident, you need to do the calculations you are doing.
If I had a magic rabbit ...
Good luck repairing that tailgate. I put a boat trailer tongue through my old Cummins 2500 tailgate. Last time I rely on someone else to do a proper hook-up. It could be fixed but the price was more than getting a used tailgate from the junkyard and painting/badging it to match.
