no, you should not try. Just clean the MAP sensor and EGR tube and leave the rest alone. If your Turbo Coolant Hose bursts, then you can pull the intake (or your mechanic) and clean it then. Other than that, just put a good tune on the engine (GDE or Sofa King) and leave it alone. It is a...
Yet I will fix it in an hours time! And I will do it for free! Well, no I won't - you will, but you get the point.
So clean your EGR tube and MAP sensor and you wont get any more ETC errors. Everyone who does this says it works, and your mileage will go way up. Watch the video below...
As you will find everywhere on this site, 99% of people come to the conclusion that the EGR valve and the EGR cooler are absolute trash, likely made by the devil to torment us. It causes so many problems on this truck! So my best advice to you is to get a GDE or Sofa King tune for your truck...
Better, but still could use some improvement. You should get a GDE or Sofa King tune. I hear the big difference is that the Sofa King tune has a lot of low end torque with throttle tip in. I have the GDE tune and I average 26.5 mixed driving. Plus you don't have that cleaning to do again.
here is what i see: "back from the dealer" - "$2200.00 dollars turbo coolant line" (means pulling the intake, fuel lines, etc.) - "50 miles and the engine just quits"
Not that I am Sherlock Holmes, but I suspect the dealer's mechanic screwed up the coolant line replacement. I would...
I assume you have had someone watch while test the bulbs, so...
try raising the resistance in the circuit. Install a 50 to 60 ohm resistor like you would do when you convert to LED bulbs. You can get a 4 pack with the connectors under 10 dollars.
It takes about a half hour of driving to clear it. BTW, disconnecting the battery does not clear codes. This tool will clear codes. It works on my kindle. Nice interface. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00H9S71LW/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I was told that if you put 1000 pounds in the bed and drive it constantly at a speed where you force it to run at least 2k RPM for 20 minutes that you will burn out soot from the DPF and force a regen. Do that a few times and you could clear it. No? Beats going to the dealer.
well, that last little 3 ounces won't trouble you much. Just drain it for 10 minutes and you will get all but the dribs and draps. The bigger trouble is where someone wanted to trade it in and shockingly used .99 cent a quart oil. Its amazing how little people care about their truck when they...
Likely you have no need to visit the dealer. To clear your code you need to clean your EGR diffuser and your MAP sensor. The video is below.
The EGR causes a lot of troubles on this truck. The exhaust from the EGR cokes up your EGR diffuser tube, the MAP sensor and the intake. Worse yet...
It stinks but its true. Those parts are not provisioned so you have to go to the next higher assembly.
It will cost you 115.00 plus shipping for those...
