hmm. Look at your overflow bottle and see if it is full. (full to the seam line). Then check your oil and see if it look good or contaminated. I am wondering if you don't have a coolant leak.
Boostn told you right. Consider getting a tune on it after the forced regen to avoid having that problem again. Also clean your MAP sensor and your EGR diffuser tube.
I may do it once the dust settles. I talked to a sales manager. They are expecting a limited allocation and full sticker price. He said people know its a Isuzu engine with an Allison transmission and will be popular. How much better would the eco be if Ram went with the 2.8 cummins?
are there any other odd things happening like a bouncing gauge, flickering light? I suspect the Body Control Module needs a re flash. Highly doubtful all four actuators stopped working all at once. There used to be a way to recalibrate the whole a/c & heat system with the recirc button but I...
I am in full agreement. If the EGR cooler leaks - either pay to replace it and file for reimbursement or pull it and put it in a box, asking for replacement under the new service contract. Not a good idea to burn coolant.
GDE, PPEI or sofaking. They will all void your warranty, maybe, if they are found. I have the GDE tune myself. Everything, including the file names and dates, are the same as stock. Its just whats in those files that varies some. Until my dealer gets a forensic IT specialist I am not worried...
Because it can be caused by excessively rich fuel mix, clean your MAP sensor if you are not running a tune. Then use your diagnostics box and clear the code and see if it comes back.
If not, here is a good history, (with pictures!). It looks like some dielectric grease on the sensor...
P206D code refers to your DEF system. It could be the DEF injector is clogged, or the system thinks you are using bad DEF, or a short in the injector wire. This system will be covered by the new service agreement once you accept the settlement with FCA and let them install the new software...
Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Back in the day with a carburetor if you drove up a mountain you would have to stop and lean it out. The MAP sensor does it for you automatically, Unfortunately, the EGR dumps soot on it making it less able to get an accurate reading. It makes your...
the tune will end all that mess. But clean your MAP sensor and change your oil as soon as you tune it. Your driving style will help a great deal as diesels love that kind of use.
I don't know about the motor. I hope it is the same with better internals. Once you turn off the EGR you are good to change or clean, up to you. I think you will be really happy.
I recommend you change your oil change frequency to 10% left on the oil minder. The computer algorithm knows what it is saying. As for someone to install the GDE tune, you can do it yourself super fast and easy. Just swap out the ECM. If you need to, have a friend help you. Maybe also...
I think it overcomes all of the issues with the power plant, other than the risk of sudden death from the lower end bearings. I think 7% of all ecos will die this way.
Aside from that, my take on the truck is that if the EGR is electronically put to sleep via the tune you have a great truck...
I think 7,000 engines have been replaced without a doubt. A higher number would not surprise me. I think the failure numbers are declining, especially the 2018 year. But they are still failing. I have a lot of hope for the 2020 engine. If nothing else I need better parts for when I do a...
My local dealer charges 155 dollars for their Quick Lane diesel oil change. They charge 175 dollars for the fuel filter change
I buy 12 quarts of oil at Amazon or Walmart for about 60 dollars. I pay 12 dollars for an ecoguard oil filter. I pay 25 dollars for a Wix fuel filter. My total cost...
