Don't listen to the butthurt naysayers who've had bad experiences, that is first part of my advice.... second part is delete and tune the dam thing from the beginning and it should last you a long time. Happy hunting!
Now you have Dabo Swiney whining about OSU being in CFP if they win the Big 10 over a couple southern schools, just because the lack of resume. Sounds like Dabo doesn't want to face the Buckeyes!
We don't need your kind around here. I was looking forward to the game this week and it's not going to happen and I totally blame that team up North.
I'm kidding. Glad to have you around and hope you can learn some things about your new ride. Enjoy!
Correct, easily done with the AlphaOBD app. You can also reprogram OEM ECM's with the software. As far as I know, the only caveat is the gear ratios of the ECMs need to match. GLWS.
Should just go all electric inside the big city limits and leave the diesels to be out in the county where the NOx breaks down and goes away after a couple of days.
Choking these engines with problematic emission equipment that negate the benefits of running diesel in the first place is not...
I don't think you'll notice any power increase by removing the muffler other then a minimal increase in exhaust noise. That said, I will do the same in the near future to clean things up a bit.
Since I'm in the US, I went with a Canadian tune from HD Diesel. I got my exhaust parts from T & S Speed Shop, also up North. End result is I couldn't be happier. Both companies were good to deal with and easily found online. The only problem is it's now hard to stay out of the throttle. I am...
Lot of variables to how long it'll take but I would give yourself 4 hours. In my case, I spent the majority of that time trying to get the exhaust apart and back together. It is a tight fit. If I had to do it over again I'd straight pipe it all the way back and delete the muffler as well. Good luck.
Not that difficult. But be prepared to deal with broken bolts off the exhaust flange, remedied with nuts ran down on the broken off stud. Here's the set of instructions I used. Good luck.
I've never had a (modern) vehicle that doesn't throw a CEL at some point. Seems like they all do, and most are emission related, gas or diesel alike. O2 sensors, EVAP canisters, etc
With this truck, an EGR code surfaced earlier this year. Needless to say, the troublesome part is gone and...
Tom, it doesn't sound good for the future of that truck. I would most definitely get into something else.
How many miles did your drive it at 30 miles per gallon of antifreeze?
