Lol dang I posted that back when I bought the truck, almost 6 years ago now.
I run mine when I see temps below 40 degrees F on a regular basis. In Ohio, that is only about 2 months a year. But this winter has been a good and cold one so it's been on for almost 3 months.
Junkyards have factory ECMs anywhere from $150 to almost $500. Keep in mind the buyer will need to have software to reprogram the VIN and injector codes.
No, in the USA it is an emission intact tune that is 49 state legal. The truck maintains all emission equipment and functions within the parameters set forth by the EPA.
You need to find a tuner that knows what they are doing. A delete tune should not use DEF fluid nor acknowledge that emission component. HD Diesel in Canada can help you out.
You only made a mistake if you are the type to spend your time worrying about what may happen. Fact of the matter is, 95 out of 100 run down the road just fine. Many are getting high mileage on them without a problem. Stick around and read up on some of the things you can do to improve your...
You’ll need ALPHA OBD (an app available for iOS and Android) to reprogram the ECM VIN and injector codes once you’ve swapped it in, along with a Bluetooth dongle to plug into your OBDII port to communicate with your device. I borrowed a junk Android phone from the neighbor and reprogrammed an...
Available.
I’m not sure what your VIN would tell me. But for your research, my truck is a 2015 with 3.55 gears.
The tune was installed early spring of 2017 in person by GDE. The PRE-EPA Hot Tune worked flawlessly, electronically disabled the EGR, increased regen intervals, and improved power...
Worked on plenty of vehicles like that. Worst being my wife’s Neon back in the day.
More heat, more hammering is your only option, it’ll come off eventually. Sorry there is no easier way that I know of. Put some anti seize on the back of the new ones so it doesn’t happen again.
Should've been the file: name_yearRamEcoDiesel_HD Diesel.usr
Attached is the instruction file in case you didn't have it. Hopefully they can help you out tomorrow.
