That sucks. What kind of mileage do you have on it? Is the truck stock? Is the failure covered by a warranty? If not, how much is the repair? Give us something...
I've ran both GDE and HD Diesel tunes and both are reputable companies with quality products. Just make sure you back up the Brinks truck to their front door.
But if you drive a different vehicle every couple of years or do not like to wrench on your vehicle, deleting isn't the best option. 29-31 mpg is a great number, if it ain't broke don't fix it!
Yea no problems with it. In fact, I wrote the VIN and injector codes to the junkyard ECM to work in my truck. Then it was overwritten by FCA with the latest update, which I ran for a few weeks. Finally the ECM was overwritten again with a tune from HD Diesel that I am currently running.
I have a Hot Tune for a 3.55 truck but no high idle (don't need it in Ohio), engine braking, or regen message (using a monitor makes the message obsolete). EGR is disabled via the tune. I'm in Ross County if you're interested.
Eh, I'm over the tourney fishing. It was fun for awhile but took me away from home too many hours. Now I just like wading the creeks with my kids and chasing Smallmouth and crawdads when we can.
I’m sure FCA has lost money on this truck considering the heavy EPA fines. But they’re not all...
