That is true from a lubricity stand point. But what about treating water in the fuel? Anything above 5% bio increases chances of it containing water. I know additives don't get rid of water, but they manipulate it's makeup, not allowing it to freeze and in turn make it useful. Chemists sure know...
EGR delete instructions are attached. HD Diesel Supply makes a decent kit. Exhaust is straight forward, R&R from the turbo back to muffler or further. T & S speed shop produces quality pipe replacement. https://tnsspeedshop.com/ You'll also need tuning to make it all work together. But do all...
Yes, unfortunately it has happened to a number of trucks. More than the industry standard from what it seems. Hopefully FCA will step up and help. Good luck moving forward.
Do you mean the black plastic shrouds behind the grill that funnel the air? If I recall correctly they just snapped back in with tabs...
And thanks for taking me way back. That may have been the first thing I did to it when I brought it home. For the record, the grille has held up beautifully...
I had the flash done in early may and recieved the settlement within 4 weeks. But now I have EGR codes to deal with. So the settlement check is spent on all the necessary things for a full delete. I should've just stayed away like I had intended to do. As for drivability of the new AEM flash, it...
I'm not sure what to do. I have an EGR delete kit sitting on my shelf but now with these codes popping up I will have to get a different tune for it to be compatible with a full out delete I think.
You should know that being GDE tuned, as I am too, you are still susceptible to certain codes. Right now I am experiencing P0403 & P0405, both related to the EGR.
I got a 'Hero' engine as TC would call it. I believe 95% of them are fine and will last. But I think it is almost imperative to eliminate the EGR operation. I would never tell anyone to stay off a forum, especially one as fine as Jeff has built here, BUUUUUT don't click the troubling posts if...
Car-part.com is also a good resource for used ECMs. You have to use AlphaOBD or something similar to program injector codes and VIN in order to run in your truck. It's not a terrible process, especially if you are an Android user.
Can't say I blame you at all! But the second time sounds like something wasn't put together correctly. Did you take a look from underneath? Could be something simple.
Lol, TC is not all over the map on the Eco. He's been consistent in his opinion from the get go and very knowledgeable. And he is right about a lot of things.
It was great to see no coolant in the oil as I've had to add about 1/2 gallon over the 93,000+ miles to keep it at the cold level mark. That is a small amount I know, but it's had to been going somewhere....
I think I may continue oil analysis from Blackstone from here on out, if for nothing...
Here are results from the first sample I've had analyzed. The truck has run 93,000 miles being GDE tuned since 40k, and now for the last 15k miles I add 1 oz of HotShots EDT per tank of fuel. This sample was about 650 miles since last regen (72% soot loaded if I recall). Rotella T6 oil (since a...
