It is really not a question, delete if you can!
The merits of just turning off the EGR vs. physically removing the parts are debatable. You will find countless threads and hours of scintillating reading under the Ecodiesel Performance section!
I do not think you will find anyone who regrets it.
Interesting, Mine counts down on the dash as I drive, the display reads 80% 70% etc until I get the region complete message. I have been thinking on getting the Edge II so I don't have to drive out of my way every time I get the message.
That sounds good, I was looking to switch to a load range e tire and found a good price on the Nokian’s . They looked like a good tire!
Since we don’t get much snow here I decided to go with the Toyo Open Country AT3’s
Strange, my GDE tune lets me know at 80%. It is usually around 500 miles (give or take) Not sure why it would do that many in a short period.
Seems like a lot unless it wasn't finishing for some reason?
Not really sure why you would go to all the trouble to physically delete everything. Installing the tune is very simple and should increase performance, mileage and extend longevity.
Check your vin # on the RAM website and verify all updates have been done to your truck.
It may still be covered under warranty if so have all recalls done, take it home and tune it. That should buy you some trouble free miles.
It will only void your warranty if you leave it in when you take it for service! If you take it out, go for service and warranty work, put it back in afterward only you will know!:censored:;)
Try looking at the Ecodiesel Performance section. There is days of reading there so you can find something that suits your needs and budget.
Welcome and tell us more about your truck!
Tunes can be switched back to stock for warranty work either with a flash or having an extra ECM! No real way for the dealer to tell that you take it in and out.
Besides, nothing seems to happen with a tune but without? the odds do seem to increase.
I also change oil at 7500 and fuel filters at...
#1: Get a tune that shuts off the EGR. Make sure you can either flash it in and out or have 2 ECM's.
#2: Transmission Tune
#3: Load range E tires for towing! makes a difference
#4:Timber Grove Enterprises air bags
couple ideas for you!
