A little update after 16 months...
Developed a small water leak behind the dash. Minimal drips, but any water leak is concerning IMO. Turns out when I fed the AMP power wire through the firewall via the main harness grommet, I failed to seal the new splice. It took over a year, but water...
I've seen that too. It will also have the ability to turn it on/off which will be a must considering the operating ranges they'll use. If not, it would greatly impact unloaded driveability.

haven't asked him specifics. but like I said, it's with HIS small town dealer so whatever went down he's gonna be taken care of. maybe he gets an '18? If there's no more he will get something else.

my uncle has had one on order since mid summer. he's being patient since he doesn't really need a new truck, just wants one. his small town dealer is in the dark just as much as he is.

Are we sure that every truck has an updated flash concerning the change in oil weight?
My truck, built in Jan 2015, hasn't been to the dealer since I drove it off the lot in June of that year until last week. Couple of small issues I wanted to get fixed before the 36k mile mark so I took it...
Really? Dam FCA that's a bold move considering the Titan XD is 100k bumper to bumper and I'm sure Ford's diesel will have a similar, 100k mile warranty.

yea that's a good plan. I also worry of long term ownership cost with this truck so a buyback might ease that thought. can an average Joe realistically work on this truck? that's a question I'm really looking into.

Jeff, maybe you could update the first post to include that the drain plug is 13mm. I always forget. This thread, first post, is a great quick view of what's needed to change the oil.

I've not gotten the latest flash. Not sure I want to either. Winter mpgs for me are bad enough, a good 4mpg hit. I couldn't stomach dropping even more.

No experience with Bio diesel. But would think I'd be careful as it can gel at much higher temps then it's full blooded diesel counterpart.

Respectfully disagree. I've not read where an owner using the truck heavily is the direct result of a failure. Sure, I've seen pics of overloaded EcoDs, as I have every other make and model out there. I think for the most part, guys/gals use and abuse them as they would any other half ton. Built...
