    CP4 cover

RAM3D, I know very little about Ford or Toyota Vehicles (gas)......I spend almost all of my time just trying to figure out GM and FCA products.
  2. TC Diesel

    CP4 cover

No..........the engine itself is 15 Years old. It seems to fare OK in HWY use, couple with missing parts it fares better. I keep reading 2nd gen+, the engine is the same 2014-19, the minor changes 2014-19 are cosmetic IMO and have little to no link to resolve the major problems.

    CP4 cover

Only those that want to be helped.....Heck I wanted this engine to be stellar. My Opinion is going to differ from those that allow themselves to be comforted by smooth talk, Theirs's still postings of the 3.0VM being Wards top 10 best engines...Hmmm If this engine makes the 10 Best that's some...

    CP4 cover

I removed it within days of ownership. Heat is a killer of all HPCR pumps. The CP4 noise will never be heard over the engine combustion knock that all DSL have, the noise level of the engine is considerably less with EMHPCR. IMO the cover only stratifies the eyes only LOL, and has no value.

    EGR Recall - Engine Failure

It varies, Some times they covered it, other times NO, at any rate the engine is out of production and unless you can find a crated 2019 your SOL, and times are lengthy on Remans.

    misfires on new 2020 ecodiesel

Yep... The Dealer sold you the The truck in any type of ligation the Dealer is legally mentioned they are the required contact on take backs. It seems their not being upfront on the matter. I would hope you have a loaner?

    misfires on new 2020 ecodiesel

The Dealer has a lot to do with it... What's your relationship with selling Dealer. Fiat being hard nosed on VM products...that just makes it more difficult for Warranty and Take backs. Generally the Dealer can push through the take back on grounds of re-sale Not so with VM products, Fiat not...

To delete or not delete. That is the question

GDE, when will this be available, these owners are pleading for Help. At this time its delete or risk wallet suck up.

    misfires on new 2020 ecodiesel

This thread is no surprised to me, I was at Cat when engineering attempted dual EGR, it was simply dropped due to to operational complexity. I have no sympathy for 2018+ owners, its well documented and published the quagmire of problems of VM3.0 over development and under engineering. That...

    Well...it happened

StevenB, I was going to post this in the Hemi Section, Hmm You touch on MPG, I just finish 541 Miles Mixed Hwy/city on 2 Tanks, it was 15.8 MPG HC, That's only 2-1.5 Less than My Eco in 2019, and with Gas being .80 less then DSL Plus 3K less out the Door,, I'm saving $$$$ Big time. it cost Me...

Good evening - Truck loosing coolant

To make things clear Ram, Dodge ,Chrysler, Has 0 to do with the VM3.0, Its All VM Cento Italy design and engineering along with GM, The engine original design was for 3200LB GM Euro's Caddy's 2005. The 3.0VM seems to do OK in HWY use, if its used for DD Family , missing parts is required or it...

    REGEN QUESTION

As far as the DPF taking increased Active/Stationary Regens/Desoot, the material used is rated to take 2200F 10,000+ times, its equal to Gas Cats that run 1400-1800F their WHOLE life. In others words it will not wear out before the engine does even if hits 1 million miles, LMBO..... it may get...

I would just move on and not worry about the bullet that missed you. OP its not even worth the time your going to spend for this answer, No we have no idea how that bolt was in your sump.

Egr cooler bolt found in my oil!

Even if the CAP was off, explain how it manage to find the fill Hole and all the way down to Sump, the Valve cover may have been off, theirs not a lot of room in 3.0 DOHC heads for that bolt to work its way around to drain ports, in the picture it looks to big to fit down the head drain ports...

Who has a 2020 eco? Any issues yet?

The solenoids on EMHPCR injectors is a big part of why they are so Spendee $$$$$... I have never been a fan of CAL Codes, it absolutely makes it much more difficult when problems arise, Commercial Engines are more lethal, Some Commercial Injectors cost over $1000.00+ US.
  19. TC Diesel

    Well...it happened

Boostn , I'm pessimistic about this engine also, it has the similar EGR system as the 2020 3.0VM VM is even more complexed. This technology was dropped by many DSL Makers. Also the Denso pump is New and its bolted in the rear and couple with dual sprockets to drive Cam and Pump, all kinds of...

    Well...it happened

The belt drives the oil Pump, and only the pump, and yes trans separation is necessary to replace it, its schedule change is 150,000 Miles. Its has a butt load of new Technology...
