Dude, you are new here, which is great, thanks for joining. Just do a little reading on the ecodiesel forums and you will find all the evidence and links you need. No need to start challenging other members.
Everytime I spend 10 minutes reading this forum, I leave feeling like Gloria Allred kicked me in the nuts as hard as she could.
I so regret buying this vehicle. Odds are in my favor that I won't suffer catastrophic failure during my ownership; but it is impossible for me to escape the horse...
Great post.
Are we certain Ram will have a half ton diesel option going forward in the near future?
There aren't even any 18's are there? Only thing I've seen on the lots are those 17's that were on the EPA hold.
If you are talking about 8th gear, yes, that is normal. One of the updates that accompanied the July 2017 oil spec updates reprogrammed the tranny shift points. Engine bearings were/are frying and so one component of FCA's solution was to keep the engines rpm's/oil pressure a little higher...
Thanks for the information TC.

So Vern is a moderator on the other ecodiesel forum and participates in the lifetime banning of anyone remotely criitical of the Ecodiesel.
Then decides to come over to the forum that welcomes those same critical opinions and the people sharing them???
A man with no shame pushing his tune...
Um, why on earth would you pay for two oil analysis samples on the same oil, and especially why would you send one in with only 1200 miles on the sample?
Folks, if that aint iron clad proof right there that this power plant has it's owners as nervous as a whore in church, then I don't know what is.
I wouldn't buy one. Reliability is no small issue.
I would rather throw the dice and buy Ford's new half ton diesel in hopes that they have a more reliable power plant. The Ram diesel is a known turd. May as well gamble with the Ford.
TC, I enjoy your posts and the fact that you share your diesel knowledge with the rest of us, but damn, your posts are so hard to read. Before you hit the send button please read your post and add some punctuation. Often times it seems you are making innuendos, but it falls flat with us...
