    Engine oil Bypass filter

Thanks, my original inquiry was about my second week of ownership; before I learned of abnormally high engine failure rates. I have since decided that extended drain intervals are not appropriate for this shit engine and so the added expense of a bypass filter system would not make sense.

Any one tried using Pela Oil Extractor for oil changes?

lay down on a creeper, slide under, remove a single no mess drain plug, slide out, let gravity do its thing for 20 minutes, slide under again, replace drain plug, slide back out, done. how could it be any easier? i would never even entertain the notion of something that doesnt totally flush...

    3.0 longevity

Very first post and worried about engine longevity already. Seems like may be a member from "the other" website coming over here on a fishing expidition. Just my first impression.

makes you wanna run down to your local dealer and buy a used ecodiesel, doesn't it?

    Progress: Ecodiesel build option!

It is not available nor has it been available for an entire model year's production. The used eco's are sitting on the lots with no interest shown from buyers. That should be all you need to know.

    Coolant loss.

You have a problem bud, you should never have to add coolant. Take it to the dealer, should be under warranty.

    EZLynk

Yes, I was talking about the ECM. I don't know if the technology is in place in our vehicles or not. It would make a lot of sense from FCA's stand point. If FCA was concerned at all about aftermarket tunes; the ability to manage the ECM's remotely would sure protect FCA's interest.

Best full syn for 2014 4x4 eco

Pooky, I am an amsoil guy and I agree with your recommendation in that regard. Where you lose all credibility with me, is when you profess straight diesel fuel has more inherent lubricity than does biodiesel. Infact, the opposite is true. While biodiesel may have some draw backs, the added...

The concern arises with FCA pushing out updates or changes unbeknownst to the truck owner.

    Failed ecodiesel

Park it at the nearest Walmart. Leave it unlocked, windows down, and keys in it. And then hope like hell whoever steals it wrecks it. Problem solved.

    Cat/DEF and EGR delete

Clearly these engines are failing at a rate most would consider abnormal to say the least. Do you have any data regarding engine failure rates with GDE tune versus failure rates of stock motors?

The U.S. officially sues FCA over EcoDiesel emissions.

With every one of these heartbreaking stories, the book value of these trucks takes another fall. They are toxic property at this point and the only people buying them are the people who do no research first. And Tex just took one hell of an FCA kick in the nuts. A buy-back is the only way to...

FCA insider document reveals current engine failure rate.

Yes, those are the documents I was referring to. I just was not being more specific out of respect to BoostN. The problem I have is that I don't see a date anywhere on those forms to tell us the sample period. If someone else does, please enlighten me. Also, as an aside, I hear people talk a...

FCA insider document reveals current engine failure rate.

As I was visiting some of my favorite EcoDiesel information websites, I stumbled across an insider FCA document which revealed the current 3.0 VM failure rate at an average of 19 per WEEK. The same insider document was posted a few months back. At that time, the failure rate was 16 per week...
