I had this happen last winter when Owner called and stated it was so cold on Red lake (Fishing) they left the truck run all night, the next day jumped in and put it in gear and BAME 100% Full. had it towed home and limp it to here and I did the go around and all is fine last I heard.
You had No warning at 70%, the message clearly tells you to drive at Hwy speed until message no longer displays.
When it reaches 100% it will require WITECH to remove, Alfa will give you the options to stationary de-soot, its the only process other than Hwy driving. alfa will not remove or...
I do admit the 2020 Eco Looks appealing, Diesel being one of My professions is just to risky until proven.
The Ram Truck Trans is awesome, the 3.0 Plus the emission at additional cost will take years and 150K+ of NO repair cost just to break even.
RamToby, this is Me, I did the same to My eco for 3 years. I mixed 2 gallon of distilled water to 2 Gallons of DEF at 32.5% this dropped the Urea levels below 16%. I've ran as low as 10% during summer months < I have never had a DEF code in any of My owned trucks in 10 Years.
YES, if the part/engine/vehicle is on US Soil, Canada also recognizes the EPA Standards..The EPA has no legal grounds to take action in Canada or Germany, Both Countries allow extraditions if legally filed and approved. VM is in Italy, but owned fully by Fiat...
Get the Cummins, the 3.0VM will not hold value , forget about tuning the EPA is aggressively Shutting down all tuners and will eventually get them all....
The 3.0 does well in 90% Hwy use and 50-50 Driving will suck up your wallet. Even My ED needed repairs at 40K Miles, and the AME only covers...
The API cert is 32.5% Urea 67.5% Deionized Water. I mix My DEF in My 2015 for three years with distilled Water, You can mix Your DEF if you like there's NO law or EPA rule, Just a Cert. My data showed 10-17% Concentrate of Urea dropped the NOx to near 0 95% of DD use. I never had any trouble...
You will need stationary De-soot, Its most likely will need more than 1, Alfa or WITech are the tools needed although others will work.
After the 1st de-sooting just drive it a couple of miles and re-attempt.
Split29, You will find despite the quagmire the 3.0 is in, many owners have blinders on, It has the highest failure rate that I have seen since the 80s, its manufactured overseas, its assembly is done in a rats nest of old outdated tooling. its current OP cannot get out of its way when cold...
No matter how good of deal ,its risky, No longer make replacement Parts or engine, Italy is a LONG ways, No tuning, and you only have Factory Warranty.
The aftermarket is going to be NO help.

I cleaned My Intake (Foamed) and De-sooted (Stationary) every 10-12K miles, I tossed the towel in, Both EGR and Intake were replaced warranty at 44K Miles.
If your Use is DD and Now that You cannot tune I would sell. Its only time before the EPA shuts down on road tuning.
