IDParts also stocks OE Mopar and OE supplier filters.
The oil filter we stock from MANN-FILTER is contracted through the same company who makes the OEM filter. It is completely identical to the Mopar boxed one and is $5 cheaper...
Yeah, I put this in the category of snake oil. No additive will give you a 10-15% bump in fuel economy. Fuel additives like Powerservice will help limit soot load somewhat, but not significantly. Remember, ASH, not soot, determines the life of the DPF, and ASH comes more from motor oil than...
Well, the class action would hinge on discovery. The goal would be to force FCA to turn over internal documentation about why they made this change. If they knew it caused damage but actively sought to prevent that information from coming out, that would come out in discovery.
In late July FCA changed the oil specification for our trucks. All unsold 2016 were to be drained and refilled immediately before sale and any truck that was in for service is to be drained and refilled as well. Without any type of explanation we're left to wonder why all this happened.
I'm...
My thoughts exactly. While I don't know the exact oil PSI at the oil cooler, it should be much higher than the coolant pressure, meaning this contamination is only one-way: oil->coolant. Not a huge deal. There shouldn't be any coolant->oil, which would be devastating.
More data is always good, and we appreciate you taking your time (and money) to get another data set. I agree that GDE Before & After Dynos would be a much better title.
Good back to back dyno video here:
It is a great engine.

What a terrible thread title - click bait level 10.
You CAN'T keep torque peak on a diesel engine until 3500 RPM. Physics. Diesel doesn't combust fast enough at that RPM to make power. You can get a flat peak in the 2-2800 range, but above that it just isn't going to happen.
GDE reviews are...
Sounds like the computer may have just gotten confused. I think that GDE said somethign about being able to do a forced regen - in park hold the engine at 2500 RPM and the regen will occur.
A "fake" DPF won't work as the exhaust has sensors for DPF pressure drop. If the pressure drop doesn't...
Total fail. You would think the service guys would give a heads up to the guys who keep the shelves stocked that EVERY ECODIESEL ON THE ROAD needs an oil change.
Just got word that Mopar is pretty much totally out of stock of Rotella. FCA put out this TSB before telling those in charge of Mopar Parts, so, they didn't have a chance to plan for it or ramp up inventory. May be out of stock for weeks...
The turbocharger actuator is an electronic servo, so this is certainly plausible. Good to have multiple options for this code.
Currently:
* Dirty MAP Sensor
* Turbo Actuator Servo Connector (or wire) not fully seated
If you want to track the reliability of this transmission, the EcoDiesel isn't the only place to look. This transmission is used in pretty much every BMW made since 2013, plus many other models.
