Yes all you will do is basically remove your oil cooler which is simple enough to get to and bolt on their block off plate connect the new oil lines that run to the filter housing and the new radiator style cooler out front.
I'm with you I ordered my truck and haven't sunk a dime in it besides fuel and oil change its been great to me so far. Just don't expect it to be lightning fast as its not.
Rollingsmokediesel.com is testing and about to put a remote air cooled oil cooler to market with a block off plate like many of the others we have seen....the biggest thing is hopefully they use a proper oil filter head that you can get a very good quality filter for.
Enjoy the truck...I don't believe ram has fixed any of the issues such as oil cooler. But electronic glitches I'm sure are pretty well sorted out. It's a great truck quiet, economical, etc. Keep your eyes peeled at rolling smoke diesel.com as they have an remote oil cooler they are about to put...
I am a supporter of the state of Jefferson movement....to split our northern half of the state from the southern and it has about 11 counties now with petitions to secede from the state...it's just whether or not the feds will allow the split to take place...
Cap you started by saying it was the fastest now it just cruises the best at speed? It has 8 gears of course it's going to cruise along effortlessly. And the injector failures were due to the injectors and pump being way ahead of the filtration system
Ya I agree besides the fact I cannot delete anything in my state and pass emissions every 2 years. It would be nice to be able to do away with anything that could potentially cause an issue but the choice isn't mine
A stock late model duramax and cummins both would smoke our trucks....unless you have a special fast truck they are not what I would consider fast hell I have been beat by a stock 5.3l Chevy with 35's under it...
I don't see your DEF freezing being that big of an issue....if the system knows it's frozen it will simply run with out it until it thaws out with the def heater/sending unit. The engineers knew it to be a possibility so all the def systems should have about a 10 minute window for it to start...
Injection/fuel systems and turbo systems have come one hell of a long way in ten years. If you think about stock to stock we are putting out the same numbers as a ford 7.3l powerstroke. Granted now they more than double our little motors in both hp and torque. But I like this little motor...
Captain any updates on the tune....what are the details for emissions testing. I have heard some state it will pass an obd2 emissions test and others will not comment. And are they stating it will pass with egr system left turned on of turned off?
