Have not heard of any issues with either getting the ring nor the bolts. Someone is not really giving you priority. Maybe just go to another dealerships parts department and see if they have the parts. My bet is that they do, and then have your current dealer get the parts from the other dealer.
Sorry, completed on the other forum. New engine installed and worked ok for the last 3 weeks but now have electrical gremlins turning lights on/off and locking the computer out such that I've had to disconnect the battery over night and reconnect the next day to get the truck to start.
This is...
I had my engine replaced 1200 miles ago. Previously my MPG on the highway at 65mph was 29-30. With the new engine, right out of the shute, it is getting 32-34 on the same roads at the same speed.
I have a Larime 4x4 with a 3.55 rearend.
Good luck! I'm still trying to get my warranty promise of up to $1000 for lodging, food and expenses while being stuck in TX from SC home due to starter/tone wheel failure. SINCE AUG. 6th LAST YEAR!!
They say they are behind. Ya think!!!
Tone ring is under recall replacement and they are not on back order these days. They should have one in stock or another local dealer should have one. Push them and they should be able to get it back on the road in only a few days.....based on their work load and not parts.
My replacement engine was loaded with oil from the factory and I was told by both the tech and the service mgr. that they now run them at the manufacture before shipping and no break in period is required. The oil change requirement on the new engine remains at 10K and is set that way when the...
I understand your confusion. Had a new engine installed also. Service advisor said he wasn't sure there was ANY warranty past the original 100K. I pushed back and he talked to the parts manager who said it was a 2 year/36K warranty, BUT gave the service advisor a flyer to show me.

Well, GOOD NEWS!! (or not)
Finally got a call into the MoPar Warr. claim department and got an answer of sorts.
First off, the good news. They have my paperwork AND I have a claim number (which they only assign after at least 90 days from when they claim they get your paperwork)
Now the bad...
Broke down in Texas and took 20 days to get fixed with tone wheel and starter. Was camping with wife and dog and no way to get home. Could not even get a rental.
Additional cost was over $2500 and just trying to get the max under the warranty of $1000.
I had my engine changed out with 96K miles due to a head gasket failure under the MoPar Extended 8/100K mile waranty. No problem (except I can't get them to respond to my $2000+ claim up to the $1000 limit) since August last year.
I'd rather know how he got the milage. I get 31+ anytime I go for a drive on the highway over 50 miles. Most I ever got was 33.1, but lost my engine at 96400 miles.
Appreciate the feedback. Did you get a new turbo with the new engine? New glow plugs? All new sensors?
What did they take off the old engine to go to the new?
Thanks
Appreciate purchasing a new engine and I did just that for my 2003 2500HD 5.7L
It came from Jasper Engines with new plugs, wires, boots, water pump, starter, new belts and hoses, gaskets, bolts for pipes and all external connections. AND with a full 3yr, 100K warranty for ALL parts and ALL...
Really!? New 3/100K warranty on the new engine! Wow, I hope I see that because what I have heard is that all you get is the remaining warranty on the first engine.....which is only 3500 miles for me.
Blew by 2015 with 96500 miles. No codes, no warring's. Just started losing coolant and dealership eventually decided it was a cracked head/block and currently waiting on a new warranty engine replacement.
I'm getting a replacement engine and I'm wondering about it. I know a number of people on this forum have put a second engine in so I'd really like to hear from them.
Questions:
What kind of warranty did they give one the new engine?
Did you consider an additional full coverage MoPar...
