Will I guess for 100,000 miles and 10 oil changes I do myself, I have done it all wrong by not waiting. Darn, my engine will probably blow up tomorrow.....but I certainly am not going to wait 20 min. for oil to flow into an engine WHEN is is just sitting there!!??!!
The wait time being mentioned is mainly for the time to fully drain the oil. As for starting afterwards, turn the start switch to run and listen for the fuel pump to charge the system....do not start. Do the run switch three times and then start the engine. Should not be any real wait time.
Okay and thanks
I guess I’ll just need to keep a very close eye on it and see what happens.
Love my truck but as we all know it does require a constant eye open for “challenges “
Thanks again
That was my first guess but I see it open at about 200 degrees and drop back to around 193 before climbing back up to a temp that used to be within 3-5 degrees of the oil temperature and is now a delta of as much as 25 degrees.
Certainly something has changed and it may well be the thermostat...
OK, I guess no one has seen this before but lets try this:
How much of a delta do you who pull TT see between the water and oil temp as a norm?
I'm trying to figure out if maybe it's just old antifreeze or a thermostat or a clogged hose or ????
Thanks
Here goes a long question:
I have a 2015 ED with 90K miles on it. Tuned since 27K miles.
My normal temp for water/oil is around 204/208 respectively.
When pulling my TT of about 7000 LBs., it goes up to 215/220. Transmission is always around 190.
I have pulled my TT throughout the US and...
IF, big IF, what they are describing is the button shifters on the steering wheel, then I have them.....and must say that pulling a travel trailer through the Rockies and Glacier NP mountains, they are GREAT. Down shift and up shift any times you want and if/when you want to get back into...
Who knows what tomorrow may bring, but I've had no issues with my 2015, and my Blackstone reports seem pretty good. I only use Rotella T6 5W40 and change both the oil and fuel filters at 10,000 miles. Love the truck
Finally found some oil for my 3.0.ED
Parks Auto has 1 gal. jugs for 34.99 each; While I prefer the 2.5 gal size, the 1 gal was all they could get in so I got some.
Just FYI for those still hunting for it.
You're to young!! :)
My wife and I were both born at Miami Valley Hosp and graduated from Beavercreek HS back in the early 60's.
Raised a family in Kettering, Ohio; went to Wright State when is was still just a DAY CARE center (no dorms had been built in 1967).
If you have any challenge...
Try and contact a former member of this forum named "VernDiesel"' He lives in the Dayton, Ohio area and tows Airstream Travel Trailers from the plant around the country to various dealers. He owned a 2014 and put 300K on his first engine then another 300K+ on the second before he just recently...
That's really great.
I posted my 2015 as getting 15.4 mpg in 2019 after traveling from SC to Glacier NP and back down through Mex/Tex and the southern route and no one would believe I could get that kind of milage pulling a 7200 lb. camper. But these trucks are real work horses and I love it...
Well, interesting results.
Long story, but here goes:
Last week, for the first time since owning the truck (3+yrs), and with 86K miles, my coolant dropped to about 1/2 inch below the seam in the overflow tank.
Filed it up with distilled water and marked the line it filled to so as to track any...
Just check my engine coolant on my 2015 Laramie . Down below the "seam" about 1/2 inch.
Just under 86,000 miles and having owned for 3+ years, it has never moved before and never needed any coolant.
I am going to add some coolant and see what happens, but I think I'm going to have to go to...
I may be reading your post incorrectly, but at least from the point of getting the trans into "normal" auto shifting, if you are in the manual shift mode, you don't have to shift it manually through all the gears to get it out of manual.....just hold the plus button down and it will shift to...
