    Well, the saga continues!

Well, the warranty came through. New engine approved. Now just have to wait for one to come in?

Coolant Leak in Back of engine.

Stopped by the dealership today. Mechanic says the cyl head is cracked along with the block. ??Way overheated, but never showed any heat problem and never even "de-rated" for high heat, let along show any trouble codes of any type. MoPar is checking on warranty coverage.

Coolant Leak in Back of engine.

Dealership decided to replace the EGR again, even though it was just replaced in July. They said the leak continues though they don't know where for sure. They ordered a coolant reservoir replacement. No idea why since there has never been any coolant on the engine, at the overflow or on the...

Coolant Leak in Back of engine.

Scheduled back into the dealership tomorrow. I not had any leaks under the passenger front mat, but continue to lose antifreeze. In the last 600 miles, have had to put over two gals into the resorvior to keep it on the cold fill like. Never have seen any coolant on the ground, but smell it...

Coolant Leak in Back of engine.

I originally thought the heater also, but since the first time I found the wet carpet on the passenger side front, there has not been any more nor any sign of leak on the ground anywhere, but a gallon of antifreeze is sure going somewhere? I think it's looking more and more like the like to the...

Coolant Leak in Back of engine.

Took the truck to the dealership. Supposedly they ran both a cold and hot coolant pressure test and there was no leak. After traveling now for a little over 350 miles, I have had to put in over a gallon of coolant. How can it test with no pressure leaks and lose fluid?

    Well, the saga continues!

The battery is where we started this problem. With the no start/failure to do more than "grunt", it certainly seemed like a bad battery. Since it was the original battery, 7 years old, we replaced it with a 900 cca AGM one and for two days, no problem. Then is was back again. There has...

    Well, the saga continues!

Soooooooooooooo...... IF it is damaged and IF it was not replaced, would it be suspect in this "no start" scenario?

    Well, the saga continues!

As my mother use to say "back again, like a bad penny"! At any rate, this saga is getting really old. The truck continues to "sometimes", refuse to start. The sounds have changes, AFTER I had the s/w update installed for the computer. Now, instead of just a "grunt" and not even one engine...

    13 codes? Cel?

First place I'd start is to clear them all and see what comes back. Sometimes these codes just come out of nowhere and when cleared maybe none, one or two may come back.

    Well, the saga continues!

Unlike a typical battery charge issue, when the voltage checks high until a load is applied, this symptom is just the opposite. Engine can’t even turn over once and then starts up strong with no problem? The time between the two events may be as small as 10 sec. up to 5 minutes, with multiple...

    Well, the saga continues!

Battery seems to be getting charged. Never have had to jump the truck and when it does decide to start it starts strong.

    Well, the saga continues!

IF your following this thread, the SAGA continues for sure! Well,..............believe it or not, the truck failed to START!! As you may know, I was in TX on the 22 nd. of July, the truck failed to start. LONG story, but the dealership was able to get a new starter and a EGR and a Tone Wheel...

Coolant Leak in Back of engine.

I currently have a coolant leak somewhere either at the back of the engine or inside under the dash. Coolant in the floor on front passenger side. Have to have the dealership take a look and see. I'll let you know what they find.

    Fuel filter replacement

For $35 or so, I change the fuel filter every time I change the oil...every 10K miles. Just because it is cheap.

    Well, the saga continues!

So, after driving the truck for a while, letting it get up to normal operating temps, came back home and found a damp floor under the passenger front seat mat. Carpet is damp. Soooo, 1. Heater core 2. hose issue to heater core 3. A/C evaporator All are located in the dash, passenger...

    Well, the saga continues!

BTW, the radiator was filled by the dealership and checked both when I picked it up from them and before I started out for the trip back to SC.

    Well, the saga continues!

As I have posted, my truck broke down in Dallas, TX with a Tone Wheel and starter failure. Finally got the truck repaired and towed my TT back to Charleston, SC. Seemed to tow ok and engine/oil temps as before with as much as 30 degrees delta between water and oil temps. While in the dealership...
