You can say that again. Bought mine thinking diesel, can’t beat it! But I got fortunate so far mine was used with 113k. Egr and plentum done at 109k. So far no issues in the motor other than glow plug. Deleted at 133k and I wish I had done sooner. I hope by investing in the now I have saved a...
The egr. Sorry to confuse. When the egr fails it dumps more soot into the intake along with coolant which mixes with the existing powdery soot in the plastic intake. Which ends up making basically sticky flammable concrete. This concrete packs the swirl valves on the bottom of the intake and...
The short answer is yes you should be.
FYI- stage 1 is egr delete/ disable.
Stage 2 is dpf, scr and egr delete.
It’s my understanding that gde allows for removal of egr
OPINION TIME
So I got to thinking today, at 143k back in 2013 I dropped the pan on my 2001 ram 1500 and found retaining the pieces of my overdrive retaining spring in the pan and worried about my trans failing. I worried and worried and religiously changed my trans fluid at 10k, and added...
Mine was the same way, it would come on almost 2 weeks apart. But I don’t daily my truck, I think when it regens they come on but idk. Tc may be of more help
TRIP INFO
Pulled my bosses skid steer back today 😭 I have 1001 uses around the house for it but he needed it back. Truck did awesome as always. Took a screen shot of the highest egts I hd the whole trip. Loving the tune!!
True, but opening a recall and advising me to “monitor my coolant levels” while I twiddle my thumbs, is a bit aggravating. Now I’m fortunate enough that mine fell off not too long ago so the recall at this point in my life is not necessary, but for others this recall means that they’re daily...
I think it’s all a bunch of bs, open a recall and offer no fix for a while, eventually they’re all gonna blow up and the owners will get fed up with them and go buy a new vehicle. Got another important recall notification about my tailgate latch, whoooo!!!!
I’d dielectric grease your connections and start with the glow plug relay before attempting removal of the plugs, I fought with mine till I replaced the plug and it fixed the issue. It’s a pita to replace the plug. I’d advise beer and plenty of lube and time to ease it out, or take it to a...
Glow plug is intermittently faulting or poor connection. Could also be the glow plug relay, I believe that’s located near the ecm Towards bottom of chassis. Mine went a month beetween codes and ended up being glow plug
UPDATE.
I’m at 3500 miles tuned. As I towed my bosses 8900 pound skid steer 30 minutes to my house I closely monitored my egt and with my egr diffuser tube missing I noticed something I think is well worth noting.
When I pulled my buddies ranger, tuned but with egr tube in tact in January...
If I recall correctly you download the software, upload your screen stock file and email it to them and they email your file back. You download the attachment yo your desktop, and use their program to add it to your tuner
So is removal of the foam desired or should it be left in place if the egr was left off due to prior mechanical work? I’ve heard mixed reviews of the foam wether it should be left on or off.
