So I was reading through the service manual recently and realized I had been performing the fuel filter drain service all wrong!
I like many people struggled to get a reasonable flow for the drain so I ordered the solid brass drain plug from Geno's.
Come to find out, procedure states to open...
T6 is the mopar recommended oil now. There is an updated owners manual available to download via ram website and it is in the diesel supplement. I have it in as my last oil change just for the low cost and convenience for availability. Opposed to ordering champion oil that I was before.
You know they won't change anything until there's actually competition. So next year after the Ford 3L diesel gets some figures and miles behind it we might finally see an update. Until then?
Nothing wrong with that, beautiful piece of metal it is, but tack on labor to bolt to to the Turbo, and then find a confident stainless steel welder to finish everything up, and let me know where you end up for cost?
Well it's mopar named and recommended for the ecodiesel since changing to 5w40 in the new owners manual revision.
Basically (please forgive the loose term, I'm sure someone will criticize it) any diesel rated CJ4 full synthetic is "good"
If suggested retail price of the engine is $2,993.30 who the fuck cares? That's the cheapest light duty diesel out of the crate you'll find. I can imagine 4cyl going for more. Compare that price to the alleged Cummins part number at $8,428?
Total engine failure out of Warranty, $3k brand new...
I have tried slowing down and extended driving at lower speeds, somewhere around 63 where the Aero kicks in or slightly lower after that, I've pulled over 700 miles on an entire tank rounding out with 29-30MPG but some metro driving, an hour or two idling, and 1500# or more payload the return...
Yeah that's normal temperatures under load in my observations. Not necessarily towing, but extended grade driving at speed, or general heavy footed driving. While ambient temperatures are 70+, general summer conditions. I don't think I'd be bothered unless I saw the 260 mark. At that point...
@KWC did you make a call on what tires you're going with? As boost said the bfg are popular and available in factory sizes, otherwise going to an lt Tire gives you tons of options depending how aggressive you want. I'm a cooper guy, at3's are alright but noisy later in life when they cup, I have...
I was gonna say that's a mighty tall Tire for only a 2" leveling kit, I run the 275/65 there's almost any Tire you can imagine and it fits the factory setup. Beats the heck out of the passenger tires!
