Yep, was a good tune.
The following Auxiliary Emissions Control Devices (Defeat Devices) were involved:
AECD 1 (Full EGR Shut-Off at Highway Speed)
AECD 2 (Reduced EGR with Increasing Vehicle Speed)
AECD 3 (EGR Shut-off for Exhaust Valve Cleaning)
AECD 4 (DEF Dosing Disablement during SCR...
You make sense but you've confused me. You have SFT Stage 1. I assume your tune shuts off the EGR, stopping soot flow into the intake. Thus I don't see any value to your restrictive device. Or am I missing something?
Interesting! You may be on to something. How do you know or measure that your device is reducing soot? How do you know your device has no negative impact on the emissions system?
Hotshots and Archoil are two of the best additives. However, additives don't reduce carbon buildup. Risilone claims to have a DPF cleaning additive but I don't know of anyone using it nor have I seen any tests confirming its claims. The best solution is a tune that turns off the EGR. GDE...
Brady gave you good advice, however, I did what he implies is not doing it right.
6 mos after my 2016 was delivered I installed Hell Bent 2" Front Leveling Spacer Set #125-200-001 .
After a couple of years, because the forum experts said what I did would fail, I bought a set of Billsteins and a...
I've always used Ram's recommended Rotella T-6, 5w-40.
In April 2023 a member of another forum called VM Motori, the Ecodiesel manufacturer, he asked them what is the best oil for his Ecodiesel. They said: Synthetic European oil, MS-12991, 5w-40. MS-12991 is the important factor. So I have...
Drive it without any worry.
The Ecodeisel CP4 pump recall results from the pump being a problem on the Cummins engines. NHTSA caused that safety recall. Then, because the Ecodiesel was using the same pump, even though its failure rate was less than 1%, the Z46 recall was issued.
I can't help as I removed the cover right after I bought the truck
I have seen some creative designs and paint jobs on Eco engine covers
Anxious to see what you do with yours
What is the gain over using Ram's recommended oil? I see no reason to deviate. And how does he know that the 15w-20 is giving "no ill reactions"? He won't know until he has a problem
Welcome
You are not being "blown off". It's the HPFP Z46 safety recall, it has to be done. You will get a letter saying the parts are available, it may take awhile
