The EGR is simple its a Plunger , The Actuator is a butter fly Valve , it still has a bypass its not possible to stop all the gases from entering the cooling chamber. the only way is to Cap/Block the pipe. Capping Without tuning it will trigger rationale codes.
The plenum is the source for the fire or the Turbo, FCA recalling only the EGR will only prolong the eventual Fire. The fires are not random they happen in all years and even some deleted fires cause by the turbo, Mike cut you losses and buy gas Ram..There's a member here were his replacement...
